Malu Buduma

Expertly fried, the jade perch was a highlight, showcasing a perfect balance of crispy exterior and tender interior, complemented by a divine sauce. The fresh pomelo pulp on top adds a burst of citrusy sweetness, cutting through the richness of the curry and complementing the fish’s crispiness.

Crab Kottu

This dish is an absolute standout, featuring soft shell crab amidst a medley of spices and carbs, reminiscent of chopped-up prata but elevated to a whole new level. It’s an intriguing mix that captivates our palates from the first bite, making it our favourite dish of the evening.

The unique combination of spice, carbs, and crab is something we haven’t found elsewhere. It’s dishes like this that make Kotuwa a must-visit spot—we’re already planning our return just for another taste of this exceptional creation.

Dallo Buduma

Slightly oily and wonderfully spiced, the calamari was a flavorful journey with each bite. Its tender texture, encased in a crispy, spicy batter, exemplifies the kitchen’s ability to elevate a classic dish with finesse.

Devilled Lingus

This dish combines fermented sausage, glutinous rice, and crispy pig’s ears, stir-fried for balanced flavour and texture. The pig’s ears provide a crisp bite that contrasts with the chewy rice and savoury sausage, showing the kitchen’s skill in pairing simple ingredients for maximum taste.

Jaffna Duck Curry

The dish had a bold spiciness that left a lasting impression, paired perfectly with the tender duck leg. It’s a spicy kick that adventurous diners will appreciate.

Egg Hopper

The sight of the runny yolk, just waiting to be broken into, is a visual treat. The hopper itself, with its light, crisp edges and soft, spongy centre, serves as the perfect vessel for this yolk and any accompanying flavours.
